Paris attacks, atrocities in the name of Islam

Doesn’t matter about global warming/climate change, does it, when our neighbours are being hideously butchered? Firing on the innocent or setting bombs among them in the name of God or any other is barbarous.

70 Thoughts on “Paris attacks, atrocities in the name of Islam

And it will unfortunately continue RT, until people face the reality that the cause is not fundamentalist extremists but the doctrine of Islam itself – wherever it is established violence eventually grows from it.

I suggest everyone read the Quran, and until they do I feel they are too ignorant to formulate an opinion on the matter either way. It starts to take flight regarding violence (especially towards Jews) about 10% into it, and builds in it’s encouragement of violence and oppression. From what I’ve read (about 2/3rds), it doesn’t have any spiritual teachings that would make someone a better person, quite the opposite. In essence it is evil, as are those who practise what it preaches. Here’s are 5 simultaneous translations of the Quran:

    http://www.prophetofdoom.net/Qurans.Islam

15″Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16″You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17″So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.…’ Matthew 7:15,16,17.

Yes, so it increasingly appears. Some amazing stuff is surfacing. The “ordinary, decent Muslims” who undoubtedly exist must gather courage to discern, abhor and repudiate the fanatics who poach their religion for evil purposes and finally eliminate them from their mosques. If it’s remotely possible.

    >”The “ordinary, decent Muslims” who undoubtedly exist”

They do exist but they are not, as Magoo alludes, following faithfully the precepts of the Quran if jihad does not mean to them, among other non-violent things, violent war. They would be luke-warm or incomplete Muslims in other words.

‘The truth about the rules of Islamic warfare’ – What is the purpose or goal of jihad?

A complicated policy like jihad can have multiple goals or purposes, but this one comes late in Muhammad’s life in Medina and best summarizes the goal and purpose. He wants to make Islam prevail over every religion.

The following translation is approved and funded by the Saudi Royal family; the parenthetical explanations are inserted by the translators:

9:33 It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of truth, to make it superior over all religions, though the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) hate (it). (Hilali and Khan, The Noble Qur’an, Riyadh: Darussalam, 1996, 2002; parenthetical notes are theirs)

This verse is repeated two more times, word for word, in Suras 61:9 and 48:28. Muhammad means business.

The Arabic word for “to make it superior” comes from the root z-h-r, which means “to become distinct, obvious, conspicuous, or manifest; to ascend or to mount; to have the upper hand.” It can also mean “triumph” or “victorious” or “prevail.”

Seekers and the curious about Islam must understand this brute fact as they read the Quran: in the ten years that Muhammad lived in Medina (AD 622-632), he either sent out or went out on seventy-four small assassination hit squads, raids, expeditions, small battles, or full-scale wars like the Tabuk Crusade in AD 630, in which Muhammad led 30,000 soldiers north to invade the Byzantine empire. Sometimes the conflicts did not end in violence, but too many times they did. All verses (and there are not many) in the Medinan suras that seem to speak of peace and tolerance must be read in light of this violent historical context. Not far from the few tolerant verses the reader will find intolerant and violent verses.

Sura 9:33, simply put, predicts the conquest of Islam over all religions. Islam must dominate the world through jihad.

ISIS is just faithfully following in the footsteps of Muhammad, just different weapons.

The term “terrorism” in respect to jihad is a misnomer to purposely avoid the uncomfortable truth or hurt the sensitivities of luke-warm Muslims who have not taken up the ultimate aims of Islam i.e. political correctness. Using the term and/or linking jihad with the notion of man-made climate change is equally wrong. Worse, reducing the aims and methods of murderous jihad taking place in our times to a “threat” on a par with the notion of futuristic man-made climate change is bizarre:

’23 instances Obama or his administration officials claimed climate change an equal or greater threat than jihad (note the title of the article is incorrect) >>>>>>

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/11/14/22-times-obama-admin-declared-climate-change-greater-threat-terrorism/

    Two examples:

During a September 2014 meeting with foreign ministers, Secretary of State John Kerry called Climate change a threat as urgent as ISIS.

In a September address at the United Nations Climate Summit Obama said, “For all the immediate challenges that we gather to address this week–terrorism, instability, inequality, disease – there’s one issue that will define the contours of this century more dramatically than any other, and that is the urgent and growing threat of a changing climate.”

If I had a choice, I’d take the negligible risk of a “threat of a changing climate” any day. So would some now dead Parisians I suspect.

Paris Attacks: ISIS Claims Responsibility For Terror Attacks – Full Statement

In the name of the all merciful Allah – Allah the very Highest said “and they thought that their fortresses would defend them from Allah. But Allah came to them where they weren’t expecting it and struck terror into their hearts. He destroyed their dwellings by their own hands and the hands of believers.

Here is a lesson, those of you who are gifted with clear sightedness. Chapter 59, Verse 2 (of the Koran). The soldiers of the caliphate, may Allah give them strength and victory, targeted the capital of abominations and perversion, the one that carries the banner of the cross in Europe, Paris.

A group split from life over here advanced towards their enemy, looking for death in the path of Allah, securing their religion, their Prophet, and wanting to humiliate their enemies. They have been truthful with Allah and we consider them as such, Allah conquered by his own hand, and put fear into the hearts of the crusaders in their own land.

Eight brothers wearing explosive belts and assault weapons targeted areas carefully chosen in the heart of the French capital. The French stadium, during a match of two crusaders countries French and Germany where the imbecile of France Francois Hollande was present, the bataclan where hundreds of idolaters participating in a party of perversity were assembled, in addition to other targets in the 10, 11 and 18 arrondissement- all simultaneously. The ground of Paris trembled under their feet and its roads became too tight for them. The toll of this attack is a minimum of 200 crusaders killed and even more injured, the praise and honor belongs to Allah.

Allah helped his brothers and gave them what they hoped for (Martyrdom) – they set off their explosive belts in the middle of these infidels after having run out of ammunition. Allah will accept them amongst the martyrs and allows them to join him. France and those who follow their path have to know that they will remain the principle targets of IS and will continue to smell the odour of death for having led this crusade, for having insulted our prophet, for boasting about fighting Islam in France, for striking a blow against Muslims in the land of the Kalifate with their planes which has achieved nothing in the foul smelling streets of Paris. This attack is only the start of the storm, and a warning for those who want to learn from their mistakes.”

    >”In the name of the all merciful Allah”

Where was the mercy? And obviously this has nothing to do with either terrorism or climate change. This is an occurring Quran-ordained religious war against any non-believer of Islam, not just a “threat” or an “issue”.

I concur with Magoo, and am reading Robert Spencer’s book The Policitally Incorrect Guide to Islam (and a the Crusades)

Something like 90% of women imprisioned in Pakistan are rape victims. A woman’s testimony in law is only worth half of a mans under Islamic Law.

Non Muslims must either convert to Islam, pay the Jizya (poll tax) or be killed.

The Prophet Mohammed was a violent warlord who had several wife’s, the youngest Aisha he married at 6 and consummated at 9. Child marriage is normalized and women are the possessions of men.

And so we invite these people with their barbaric and seventh century lifestyles in. If we show any sign of dissent, it is “racist”

I’m wrong. God (Allah) fills hearts with terror or casts terror into hearts according to the Koran

From Magoo’s reference, the AA and NQ translations:

    Confrontation
    Exile, Banishment

AA It is He who drove those among the people of the Book who refused to believe,
from their homes for the first confrontation. You did not think that they would
go away, and they imagined that their forts would protect them against God.
But God came upon them from where they did not suspect, and filled their
hearts with terror, so that they destroyed their homes with their own hands (or
were destroyed) by the hands of believers. So take heed, O men of sight!

NQ He it is Who drove out the disbelievers among the people of the Scripture (i.e.
the Jews of the tribe of Banî An-Nadîr) from their homes at the first gathering.
You did not think that they would get out. And they thought that their
fortresses would defend them from Allâh! But Allâh’s (Torment) reached them
from a place whereof they expected it not, and He cast terror into their hearts,
so that they destroyed their own dwellings with their own hands and the hands
of the believers. Then take admonition, O you with eyes (to see).

Who they’re fighting are Islamists carrying out the precepts of Muhammad and the Quran, including terror as upthread. Religion is the screen in this case, any Quran-beleiving Muslim is a potential terrorist jihadi and enemy of the non-beleiving infidel (us). The infidel (us) are already the Quran-defined enemy of Islam whether or not a Muslim chooses to inflict death and terror.

Sure, Muslim refugees have fled the war, but they haven’t fled Islam. And enclaves of Islam already exist in Europe or areas that facilitate terror (see below). The likes of Obama, with his Muslim background, and the politically blinded can never bring themselves to face this reality. At least not publicly and politically incorrectly.

‘ISIS Launches Cyber Jihad Fundraiser to Arm PA Arabs in Attacks on Israeli Jews’

By: Hana Levi Julian Published: November 16th, 2015

The Da’esh (ISIS) terror organization has launched a cyber jihad fundraiser to arm Palestinian Authority terrorists in their efforts to attack Israel’s Jews. The cyber campaign allows a donor to purchase a weapon for as little as $3,000 (a simple rocket-propelled grenade launcher) and donate it to the “cause” – killing Israeli Jews, that is.

Aimed at arming “mujahedeen of Beyt al-Maqdis” — a reference to Jerusalem and a metaphor for all of Israel – the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) reports the fundraiser started a few weeks ago on Twitter and Telegram. “Al Aqsa Nafeer” (mobilization for jihad) is very busy online collecting money to buy weapons and equipment specifically for terrorists in Judea, Samaria and Gaza so they can kill Jews throughout Israel.

A statement released by the terror group said that so far the campaign has been “successful,” MEMRI reported. Are you a small-time donor? Then you can participate in the jihad for the token sum of only $900, and donate a Katyusha rocket. For $4,000, you can provide a Grad missile to the jihad – one with a range of 20 kilometers – and with a bigger investment ($10,000) your Grad missile can reach as far as 40 kilometers! A sniper rifle can be donated for $6,000; a PK machine gun for $5,500. Maybe you are a big-time donor: in that case, donate an entire arsenal. The sky is the limit.

The campaign, which is “slickly produced” according to MEMRI, features various posters and a video, and is coordinated across most important social media platforms, including Skype, Gmail, Twitter and Telegram. Instructions for the transfer of funds are provided in a shielded manner, probably after a discreet screening process.

‘Main target in Paris jihad attack: Jewish-owned Bataclan Theater, frequent target of Muslims and BDS groups’

November 15, 2015 3:41 pm By Robert Spencer 10 Comments

As Pamela Geller points out here, the jihadi mass murderers in Mumbai in 2008 also went out of their way to target Jews, making a Chabad House in the city a principal site for their jihad. The Qur’an designates Jews the worst enemies of the Muslims (5:82), and this manifests itself in a burning hatred that all too many Muslims have for Jews — a hatred that easily turns murderous.

This also shows how the global jihad and the BDS movement are close bedfellows.

Martin Kramer, “The Jihad Against the Jews,” Commentary, October 1994

    http://martinkramer.org/sandbox/reader/archives/the-jihad-against-the-jews/

    Excerpts:

The choice of a Jewish target was no mistake [Buenos Aires 1994]. It came as the culmination of a shift in the thinking of many Muslim fundamentalists. Today [1994] they are in thrall to the idea that Jews everywhere, in league with Israel, are behind a sinister plot to destroy Islam. The battleground is anywhere Jews are organized to assist and aid in this plot. This is a new concept even for Islamic fundamentalism, and it represents an especially virulent form of anti-Semitism, one so widespread and potentially violent that it could eclipse all other forms of anti-Semitism over the next decade.

Not surprisingly, European-inspired racial anti-Semitism reached the height of its influence with the genocidal Nazi war against the Jews. In the 1930’s and 1940’s, Arab-nationalist leaders found support and then refuge in Berlin, and Arabic translations of Mein Kampf and the Protocols [of Zion] enjoyed their widest circulation. These ideas persisted into the postwar period, when Jews were forced from Arab lands. Despite their deep roots in these lands, Arab nationalist dogma drew on the anti-Semitic doctrines of Europe to portray the Jews as aliens in every place, at every time. The Arab nationalists claimed that the hearts and minds of all Jews belonged ultimately to the new state of Israel, and so any Jew could be held accountable for the supposed sins of the Jewish state. This provided the legitimation for the mass expulsion of Jews from Arab lands in the 1950’s. There were once 800,000 Jews in the Arab world; today [1994] there are only about 20,000, most of them in Morocco.

Arab anti-Semitism took on a new guise in the 1960’s and 1970’s, under the impact of the fashionable anti-Zionism of the Left. While denying any anti-Semitic prejudice, the new “anti-Zionists” also denied Jews the right to self-definition as a nation. The Jews had wronged all mankind by deciding that they constituted a nation, and then by creating Israel in the heartland of another nation.

Ironic given Europe is now feeling the brunt of jihad. Or is there some natural justice involved?

People who say: “We are the followers of Christ” can expect no special favours either, even if they are priests and monks devoted to learning. I watched this doco on 60 Minutes:

The following script is from “Iraq’s Christians” which aired on March 22, 2015. Lara Logan is the correspondent.

    CBS News
There are few places on earth where Christianity is as old as it is in Iraq. Christians there trace their history to the first century apostles. But today, their existence has been threatened by the terrorist group that calls itself Islamic State. More than 125,000 Christians — men, women and children — have been forced from their homes over the last 10 months. The Islamic State — or ISIS — stormed into Iraq’s second largest city, Mosul, last summer and took control. From there, it pushed into the neighboring villages and towns across this region, known as the Nineveh Plains, a vast area that’s been home to Christians since the first century after Christ. Much of what took almost 2,000 years to build has been lost in a matter of months On the side of a mountain, overlooking the Nineveh Plains of ancient Mesopotamia, is the Monastery of St. Matthew. It’s one of the oldest on earth. The voices of its monks have echoed here since the fourth century, uttering prayers that have not changed.

Lara Logan: You do the service in Aramaic?
    Father Joseph Ibrahim: Yes.
Lara Logan: Which was the language of Jesus.
    Father Joseph Ibrahim: Yes.
Lara Logan: Are you among the last people on earth to speak this language?
Father Joseph Ibrahim: We think so because we kept this language through the language of prayers.

Prayers through centuries of persecution. Father Joseph Ibrahim is one of only seven monks left here. He told us the monastery was founded in 363, and has survived the Persian and Ottoman empires, Mongol invaders and Kurdish conquests. Today, it’s threatened by the Islamic State, whose fighters advanced towards St. Matthew’s gates shortly after taking Mosul last summer. Kurdish soldiers pushed them back to this village where their flag still flies only four miles from the monastery.

    […]

The road from St. Matthew’s brings you to the front line, just six miles from the outskirts of Mosul. Every town and village between here and the occupied city is in the hands of the Islamic State. And now, we’re told, for the first time in nearly 2,000 years, there are no Christians left inside Mosul.

    […]

Nicodemus Sharaf is the Archbishop of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Mosul, one of about 10,000 Christians who fled the city. We found him living as a refugee in the Kurdish capital, Erbil. He said ISIS fighters were already inside Mosul when he escaped.

Archbishop Nicodemus Sharaf: I didn’t have any time to take anything. I was told I had five minutes to go. Just I took five books that are very old.

Among them, this Aramaic manuscript. He told us it was written 500 years ago and said he left behind hundreds more older than this one – Christian relics that may never be recovered.

Archbishop Nicodemus Sharaf: I think they burn all the books. And we have books from the first century of the Christianity.
Lara Logan: You had from the first century..
Archbishop Nicodemus Sharaf: Yes, of the Christianity. When I remember this, I cannot …(crying) from the beginning the Christianity, this is the first time we cannot pray in our churches.

As it seeks to erase Christianity from the landscape, the Islamic state allows no Christian symbols. It just released these photographs which show the desecration of the church at what is believed to be the monastery of Mar Gorgis, just north of Mosul. And nothing is sacred. ISIS blew up this mosque just over a month after taking here — it’s a site holy to both Christians and Muslims because the Old Testament prophet Jonah was said to be buried inside. Just like the Nazis marked the property of Jews, Christian homes in Mosul have been marked with this red symbol. It’s the Arabic letter N – for Nasara – an early Islamic term for Christians. When ISIS puts it on your home, you either convert to Islam, pay an extortion tax or face the sword.

Issah Al Qurain is one of tens of thousands who had to make that choice. He was at home with his family in the Christian village where he’d lived all his life, when ISIS fighters came looking for him. He told us the fighters first took all his money – then his wife and children.

Lara Logan: They were telling you convert, convert, convert?

Issah Al Qurain (translated): Yes, convert. In the beginning, I refused. I told them I was Christian and I had my religion and they had their religion. But they told me, if you don’t convert, we will kill you and take your wife and children. He agreed and was taken to Mosul to convert where he was reunited with his family. Soon, ISIS fighters were asking about his young daughter, and he told us that frightened him more than anything.

Issah Al Qurain (translated): They said to me that in Islam, the Sharia says, girls that are 10 years old should get married. As soon as they left, my wife and I shut the door. We looked at each other and she started to cry and pray. We were so scared they were going to take our daughter from us.

    >”scarcely credible”

But very real. This is life in an Islamic Caliphate under Sharia Law.

    Sharia Law

Sharia law is the law of Islam. The Sharia (also spelled Shariah or Shari’a) law is cast from the actions and words of Muhammad, which are called “Sunnah,” and the Quran, which he authored.

The Sharia law itself cannot be altered, but the interpretation of the Sharia law, called “figh,” by imams is given some leeway.

As a legal system, the Sharia law covers a very wide range of topics. While other legal codes deal primarily with public behavior, Sharia law covers public behavior, private behavior and private beliefs. Of all legal systems in the world today, Islam’s Sharia law is the most intrusive and strict, especially against women.

    According to the Sharia law:

    • Theft is punishable by amputation of the right hand (above).
    • Criticizing or denying any part of the Quran is punishable by death.
    • Criticizing or denying Muhammad is a prophet is punishable by death.
    • Criticizing or denying Allah, the moon god of Islam [see below] is punishable by death.
    • A Muslim who becomes a non-Muslim is punishable by death.
    • A non-Muslim who leads a Muslim away from Islam is punishable by death.
    • A non-Muslim man who marries a Muslim woman is punishable by death.
    • A man can marry an infant girl and consummate the marriage when she is 9 years old.
    • Girls’ clitoris should be cut (per Muhammad’s words in Book 41, Kitab Al-Adab, Hadith 5251).
    • A woman can have 1 husband, but a man can have up to 4 wives; Muhammad can have more.
    • A man can unilaterally divorce his wife but a woman needs her husband’s consent to divorce.
    • A man can beat his wife for insubordination.
    • Testimonies of four male witnesses are required to prove rape against a woman.
    • A woman who has been raped cannot testify in court against her rapist(s).
    • A woman’s testimony in court, allowed only in property cases, carries half the weight of a man’s.
    • A female heir inherits half of what a male heir inherits.
    • A woman cannot drive a car, as it leads to fitnah (upheaval).
    • A woman cannot speak alone to a man who is not her husband or relative.
    • Meat to be eaten must come from animals that have been sacrificed to Allah – i.e., be Halal.
    • Muslims should engage in Taqiyya and lie to non-Muslims to advance Islam.
    • The list goes on.

Which countries use the Sharia law?

Muslims’ aspired Sharia state is Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Muhammad that has no legal code other than the Sharia and enforces it without mercy (see Sharia law in Saudi Arabia). But as detailed herewith, the Sharia law is also used in full or in part, nationally or regionally in:

    Allah Moon God

“Allah” was ……. the personal name given to the moon god, the highest of the 360 pagan idols worshipped in Mecca, Muhammad’s home town (see Muhammad False Prophet [below]).

What evidence is there that Islam’s “Allah” is the pagan moon god of ancient Mecca?

Consider what the pagan Arabians did to worship their moon god, Allah; they prayed while bowing towards K’abah, the “house of Allah” in Mecca that houses a meteorite – a stone from space – several times a day, visited it once a year, and walked around it several times during their visit.

    To worship their Allah today:

    • Muslims pray bowing towards the K’abah in Mecca five times a day.

    • About two million Muslims visit Mecca every year and walk around the K’abah (the black cube, which is 40 feet tall, on the right).

    • The Muslim “holy” month of Ramadan starts at the sighting of a new crescent moon.

    • Perched atop churches across the world is the cross, the symbol of the sacrifice made by our God. Perched atop mosques across the world is the crescent moon (above), the symbol of Allah whom Muhammad chose as the god of Islam.

    Muhammad False Prophet

When Muhammad conquered the pagan Mecca, it worshipped 360 idols. The four most important among them were the moon god, “Sin”, also known as “Hubal”, also known as “Allah”, and his three daughters: Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Al-Manat.

Muhammad’s attempt to impose monotheism by keeping just Allah and ridding the other 359 Meccan idols faced resistance from Meccans who held Allah’s three daughters very dear.

Eager to be accepted as a prophet in his native Mecca, Muhammad initially conceded that Allah approved of Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Al-Manat. But unable to reconcile three extra goddesses with his declared monotheism, Muhammad later reversed himself, confessing, “I have fabricated things against Allah and have imputed to him words which he has not spoken.” (Al Tabari, The History of Al-Tabari, vol. 6, p.111) and said he had mistaken the words of “Satan” (Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasul Allah, pp.165-166) as Allah’s.

So all of Islamic jihad, murderous atrocities and despotic Sharia law, Muslim aspirations of an Islamic Caliphate, anti-Semitism, and so on, are on account of a pagan Meccan moon god.

I was sent this article today by a women who has close links with a number of groups in Israel and the ME:

‘A trip to Greece with the Israelis who are helping Syrian refugees’

As boat after boat arrives at the Greek island of Lesbos, the refugees aboard are met by a cacophony of languages from aid workers offering help. But there is only one team of aid workers from the Middle East that can talk to these refugees from Syria, Iraq, and elsewhere in their own language. To their surprise, it is the Israeli team.

“It feels like I dreamed it,” said a bemused 26-year-old man from Damascus. “I never thought an Israeli would treat me.” His wife had just received medical help from IsraAID, a humanitarian aid agency that started working on the European refugee crisis in September. It currently has a team in Lesbos and another on the Serbia-Croatia border.

    […]

IsraAID is an Israel-based organization mostly funded by Jewish donors from both Israel and the Diaspora, and the group certainly gets around. It has gone on missions to Nepal after this year’s earthquake, Washington state after last year’s wildfire, and Haiti after a devastating 2010 earthquake. But its Israeli origins have never been as relevant as they are to this mission.

This is for two reasons: First, the fact that Israel has a large Arabic-speaking population means the country’s social work and medical professions are trained to provide Arabic-language services. Second, because of Israel’s long history of conflict, it has well-trained experts in crisis situations.

    >”man from Damascus”

Probably a good move given this prophecy:

Isaiah 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Reason to be sceptical since Damascus is the oldest city in continuous settlement, and Beirut down the road is still standing (just) after the war there. But worth considering in context with other similar prophecies:

Jeremiah 51:37 And Babylon shall become heaps (check)

Matthew 24:2 [Jerusalem temple] There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. (check)

Oddly, hard to find Islam in bible prophecy. Could be Revelation 6:8 according to the following plagiarism:

The Fourth Horse “The Green Horse”

The translators of the King James Version of the Bible used the word “pale” for the fourth horse, which is better translated “green” from the original Greek word, “chloros.” Green is the universally identifiable color of Islam.

“And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with death.” (Revelation 6:8)

    The Mark of Islam: Death

According to a 2013 report in muslimpopulation.com, Islam has 2.04 billion adherents, 23% of the world population, projected to be 2.8 billion by 2014. According to a 2013 report in The Economist magazine, over 70% of Muslims support Sharia law and 90% support execution of apostates.

It is Russia (Gog) that heads an invasion of Israel, not ISIS or an Islamic Caliphate:

Ezekiel 38:9 Thou [Gog/Russia] shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

    Doesn’t go so well:

Ezekiel 39:4 Thou [Gog/Russia] shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.

Remains to be seen if Russia heads an army that includes Islamic nations (“the people that is with thee”) which seems plausible, but I don’t see any radical Islamic organisations like ISIS in that prophecy. Russia is in the process of destroying Syrian rebels, including ISIS, right now in Syria. But Russia does have associations with Islamic nations formed to influence its Islamic populace (think Chechnya).

The Russian military presence in Syria is not far from Israel. It is not inconceivable that the involvement will lead to the event in Ezekiel 38:9. But it would be with the militia of associated Islamic nations that we already know, not with a new Islamic Caliphate as I see it.

Previous quote was incomplete (memo to self – check before plagiarizing). Revelation 6:8 from the KJV is this in full:

Revelation 6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Islam doesn’t fit so well when the verse is complete. Beasts of the earth were part of Roman Coliseum entertainment but not an Islamic weapon that I know of. And I don’t know of Islam bringing about hunger either, or any way it could. Communism managed to. Death obviously common to both.

I would have thought Islam would feature prominently in end times prophecy but it takes a lot of stretching to make it fit anywhere.

There’s more than a grain of truth in my view, that France has brought a lot of this on itself over many decades. The black activists seem to be alluding to that but if that’s their point then there are better ways of communicating it. And what is their solution?

France’s reaction now is military raids in Syria. How that is going to change the social structure that France has created by colonialisation and immigration is beyond me. It’s not going to wind back the clock back in France or in it’s colonies that’s for sure.

Worth remembering too, that 224 people died when a Russian airliner over Egypt was brought down by a bomb (129+ in Paris). National landmarks lit with Russian colours? No. Flowers, mourning, except in Russia? No.

Putin ordered the Russian navy in the eastern Mediterranean to coordinate its actions on the sea and in the air with the French navy, after the Kremlin used long-range bombers and cruise missiles in Syria and announced it would expand its strike force by 37 planes.

“We will find them anywhere on the planet and punish them,” Putin said of the plane bombers at a somber Kremlin meeting broadcast on Tuesday. The FSB security service swiftly announced a $50 million bounty in a global manhunt for the bombers.

The Airbus A321, operated by Metrojet, had been returning Russian holiday makers from the Egyptian resort to St Petersburg when it broke up over the Sinai Peninsula, killing all on board. A group affiliated with Islamic State claimed responsibility.

A French defense official said Russia’s realization that its plane had been felled by a bomb was a wake-up call for Moscow.

“What’s changed is less that France has changed, but that Russia has,” said the official. “Russia has acknowledged that the plane was an attack carried out by Daesh (Islamic State). Russia … is now beginning to say to itself that Daesh is also its enemy and has to be hit.”

The crisis began when a group of armed Islamic terrorists, mostly Ingush and Chechen, occupied School Number One (SNO) in the town of Beslan, North Ossetia (an autonomous republic in the North Caucasus region of the Russian Federation) on 1 September 2004. The hostage-takers were the Riyadus-Salikhin Battalion, sent by the Chechen warlord Shamil Basayev, who demanded recognition of the independence of Chechnya in UN and Russian withdrawal from Chechnya. On the third day of the standoff, Russian security forces stormed the building with the use of tanks, incendiary rockets and other heavy weapons.[6] At least 385 hostages were killed, including 186 children,[7][8] with a significant number of people injured and reported missing.

By Daily Mail Reporter Published: 16 June 2013

So far, about 30 favelas – out of about 1000 – are occupied by the UPP[ ‘Pacifying Police Units’], but the government aims to make it 40 by next year.

One of the most graphic UPP ‘pacification’ interventions was staged in November 2010, in which police engaged in a five-day battle to take back part of the Vila Cruzeiro and Complexo do Alemao favelas, according to In Sight Crime.

The dangerous operation involving 3,000 heavily-armed special police and military forces was captured by photographer David Oziel in a series of graphic shots published by Environmental Graffiti.

The black and white images show officers in the joint Special Ops Battalion-led operation trying to clear the area of drug traffickers.

During the assault on Vila Cruzeiro, headquarters for Rio’s biggest drug gang Red Command which was founded in a prison in 1979, most of the drug traffickers escaped to the neighboring group of favelas – Complexo do Alemão.

Armed forces moved into these areas with tanks, armored cars, rifles and trained police dogs, recovering stolen vehicles and large quantities of illegal drugs such as cocaine and marijuana.

About 37 people were reportedly killed and 200 arrested in this favela operation, according to In Sight Crime.

Many residents have embraced this ‘occupation’, and others like it, particularly as many innocent people are often caught in the crossfire of gang shootings and attacks.

Stray bullets and murders are both common causes of death in the favelas.

‘The conflict that was happening is not happening anymore,’ favela resident Angelo Santos told Washington Post in 2009.

‘You don’t need to come home from work now and see people carrying guns all the time.’

I watched a TV doco that went inside the UPP. It really is war.

In Marseilles, the French have organized crime AND a death cult to contend with (and an overlap obviously).

But they haven’t started yet. They start in Syria. Where do they think the ISIS fighters come from?

‘Senate votes to upend centerpiece of Obama climate pledge’

By Andrew Restuccia and Darren Goode | 11/17/15

The Senate on Tuesday approved a pair of resolutions aimed at killing the centerpiece of President Barack Obama’s climate agenda, part of a Republican-led effort to undercut the White House goal of striking a new global-warming deal in Paris next month.

The Senate voted to greenlight two disapproval resolutions under the Congressional Review Act, a seldom-invoked law that allows lawmakers to reject a recently finalized regulation with a simply majority vote. One resolution targeted the Environmental Protection Agency’s climate rule for existing power plants, and a second focused on EPA’s climate rule for new and modified power plants. Both passed 52-46, largely along party lines.

But the resolutions will not succeed in overturning the EPA regulations. Obama will smack the measures down with vetoes, and lawmakers do not have enough support to override him.

    […]

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid defended the president’s climate regulations. “It is the right thing to do, and the president will protect this because it’s the right thing for the health of America,” he said.

Democrats also said the Senate’s time would be better spent devising a response to the attacks that rocked the French capital last week. In a floor speech, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) called climate change a “catalyst of conflict” that exacerbates tensions that fuel terrorism and wars.

“Paris is still recovering from the terrorist attacks … and the majority leader wants to spend floor time serving the coal industry and trying to undue the president’s Clean Power Plan,” Whitehouse said at a news conference earlier Tuesday.

Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), a leading EPA critic who doubts mainstream climate science, blasted Democrats who say climate change is a national security issue.

“So when you have a Russian airliner bombed out of the air, when you have the number of killings, deaths, the carnage in Paris, it is time for the president to move away from his focus on climate, which to me appears like a trivial pursuit,” Barrasso said Tuesday. “The president ought to be focused not on the upcoming Paris climate talks two weeks from now but on the impacts that are happening and happened in Paris last week.”

‘New report: EPA a well-armed militia with little to no oversight’

Written by Thomas Richard, Examiner.com on 18 November 2015.

The new report, which examined the fiscal years 2000 – 2014, found that the EPA’s 2015 budget would rank 42 out of 50 state budgets, and at its peak in 2010, would come in at 38.

To put all this in perspective, the EPA grant-making machine has doled out over twenty times (20x) more taxpayer dollars than the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, the largest charitable foundation. And because the EPA employs over 1,000 lawyers, it would be considered the “14th largest law firm in the United States, even though EPA lawyers don’t defend the agency in court,” Andrzejewski says. For that, the Department of Justice handles all court-related matters, and has spent an additional $43 million in additional legal fees defending EPA actions.

The EPA also has a Criminal Enforcement Program (CEP) that has spent roughly $700 million since 2006, according to disclosed budget estimates. These EPA “police” are actually called Special Agents, whose job is to protect the environment and investigate environmental crimes. The EPA disclosed that it had spent tens of millions of dollars on “guns up to 300MM, ammunition up to 300MM, body armor, camouflage and deceptive equipment, unmanned aircraft, amphibious assault ships, radar, night vision, joint Homeland Security projects,” and more. Some of these weapons are twice the size of what you’d find in active war zones.

I can only conclude that followers of Muhammad, the founder of Islam, have been duped as per Magoo’s Matthew 7:15 quote, “Beware of the false prophets…..”. There is a specific singular “false prophet” referred to 4 times in Revelation but doesn’t fit anyone that might come out of Islam that I can envisage. All of Islam are merely followers of one of many false prophets in the biblical scheme of things from what I can see. Other end-time players like the papacy (first beast), USA (second beast), and Russia (Gog) are far more significant. Even international shipped trade and monetary collapse (you could even say capitalism) gets a big mention in Rev 18 ahead of Islam which does not seem to be relevant to anything of consequence.

Muhammad arbitrarily selected pagan Meccan moon god Sin (Hubal) as top dog out of 360. That’s not what you find in Wikipedia (below). Arabs had been using the generic “Allah” name for God long before Muhammad came along. That name is not referring to Muhammad’s god of Islam despite Muslims thinking it is and wanting everyone else to think so.

    Wikipedia:

“Muhammad[n 1] (Arabic: محمد‎; c. 570 CE – 8 June 632 CE)[1] is generally regarded to be the founder of Islam.[2] He is considered, almost universally,[n 2] by Muslims to have been the last prophet sent by God to mankind[3][n 3] to restore Islam, which they believe to be the unaltered original monotheistic faith of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets.”

This is baloney. One is YHWH, the other is moon god Sin (Hubal).

    And,

“He destroyed 360 pagan idols at the Kaaba [Mecca]”

One of the 360 was moon god Sin (Hubal) which Muhammed decided was Allah. The crescent moon is the symbol of Islam. The moon god Sin (Hubal) was one of the many pagan gods of ancient Babylon (Revelation’s “Mother of Harlots”).

I think Islam could be one of the beasts of Revelation. It’s a false doctrine that is a counterfeit of Judaic/Christian teachings (false prophet) that sets itself up in place of & rejects Christ (antichrist). The beast doesn’t have to be a person or nation necessarily. Islam persecutes Christians and Jews, amongst others, and requires all to submit to it (bear the mark of the beast). Those who accept the beast’s mark are condemned because they reject Christ, which is what Islam demands. This is all on the assumption that revelation is a prophesy of the future rather than the past (Nero) of course – or both.

You’re correct that the Hebrew/Christian god is not the same as that of Islam. Muslims are fully aware of this, which can be proven by asking them to call their god Yahweh or Jehovah if that’s what they believe, which they will refuse to do.

Or within i.e. included in either one. Yes I’ve thought about that too. Problem is it has to fit all descriptions in all the separate references to each respective beast (I’m referring to the 1st & 2nd beasts of Rev 13). For example there is a description of the 1st beast in Revelation 17:8-10 (KJV):

8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Governmental power of the papacy was removed by Napoleon’s General Berthier in 1798:

Pope Pius VI – Deposition and death under Napoleon
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Pius_VI#Deposition_and_death_under_Napoleon

And returned by Mussolini in 1929:

    History of the papacy
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_papacy#From_the_creation_of_Vatican_City_.281929.29

The papacy fits “was, and is not, and yet is”. Islam doesn’t.

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

The women is the Roman Catholic Church and the seven heads are the seven papal names (mountains) since govt power was restored in 1929. I don’t think this refers to the seven hills of Rome but it could be I suppose, this is a popular interpretation.

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

These are the last seven legitimate popes (i.e. none that will be declared anti-pope). Islam doesn’t fit like this and unless there is some sort of unification I don’t see Islam as either this beast or part of it. The papacy comes out of the Roman Empire i.e. the description in Daniel fits the description in Rev 13:2:

Inherited Characteristics of the First Beast of Revelation 13
    http://amazingdiscoveries.org/S-deception_beasts_Babylon_lion_Revelation

And only the USA qualifies as the 2nd beast of Rev 13:

Identifying the Second Beast of Revelation 13
    http://amazingdiscoveries.org/1212

That’s the thing, to make Islam fit it has to fit ALL references not just a vague allusion somewhere. There’s nothing I can find or think of that does this in respect to Islam.

BTW, re the 2nd beast Rev 13:11 that must be USA, see Rev 13:13

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

Is this a supernatural event or simply the enactment of the CO2 “endangerment finding” by the Supreme Court of the United States (Massachusetts v. EPA 2007)?

In other words, could this just be the theory of man-made climate change whereby heat (fire) comes down from the atmosphere (heaven) in violation of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics and writtn in to US law?

The Greek word in this case is “pur” (Strongs #4442) which is definitely fire or maybe heat from the sun but I don’t think the concept of heat (and therefore a word for it – see below) was around in the time of John when he wrote that vision.

A “beast” in biblical prophecy is a governmental entity (e.g. an empire), a person representing the beast is the “mouth” of the beast e.g. the 1st beast of Rev 13:

Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth……

Plenty of evidence that this fits the papacy (Martin Luther saw this among others) e.g. the Vatican governmental State, the Inquisition, Sabbath changed to Sunday. The “mark”, both mentally and physically (hand and forehead, work and thinking) of the RC beast is the idea that the pagan Sunday (“Venerable day of the sun”) is the holy Sabbath (and enforcement of it) but the Jewish Sabbath Saturday isn’t.

The RC Church changed the Ten Commandments to accommodate this:

Roman Catholic Ten Commandments – Bible Ten Commandments Catholic Ten Commandments
    http://www.the-ten-commandments.org/romancatholic-tencommandments.html

So far, except for ISIS, there is no Islamic governmental entity (Caliphate). There are nations under Sharia law e.g. Saudi Arabia, but no Islamic government in entirety. If a Caliphate is established then it would have to fit ALL the biblical criteria, including OT, to qualify as one of the beasts. That’s a tight fit that is very difficult to make except for the Roman Empire/RC church and USA.

I think ancient Rome is more likely than the Roman Catholic Church. I feel many parts of Revelation, but not all, refer to past events to give the persecuted Christians of the past, present ands future hope by showing that God has come through for them before and will do again, and it can be quite tricky identifying which is what. It’s usually in metaphoric references to events from the Old Testament.

One thing I found interesting is the reference to 666 – if you compare the 7 sections of the 4 horsemen, the 7 trumpets, and the 7 plagues you’ll see the the 6th of each 7 is substantially longer and expanded upon than the rest of the 7 in each section. Just a hint of a largely unexplored idea, but I’m wondering if the 4 horsemen section refers to the past, the 7 trumpets to the present, and the 7 plagues to the future, as in ‘he who was, he who is, and he who is to come’.

Magoo, re End Of The Age – Islam, the Antichrist, and Mystery Babylon

We need to specifically reference events with verses to make any sense. There’s no actual reference to “the Antichrist” as being one person in the future except that alluded to by John 1, note there is no “the”:

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

This is simply warming that there will be opposition to Christ i.e. antichrist. And there’s no reference at all to “antichrist” in Revelation (check it out).

    Islam, see below.

    >”I think ancient Rome is more likely than the Roman Catholic Church”

The Roman Empire and Roman Catholic Church are one-and-the-same. There is a biblical continuity starting in Daniel tracing the evolution of the Roman Empire and the continuance of it via the Roman Catholic Church once the secular Empire fell.

It’s the “Little Horn” where the possibility of both RC Church AND Islam can be interpreted:

‘Islam and the Little Horn or Daniel 7′

Ever since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center by Islamic militants, the attention of some Christians has been directed to Bible prophecy, looking to see whether the Bible projects any role for this world religion in our time.

A review of the history of prophetic interpretation shows that some leaders of the Protestant ReformationClike Luther and CalvinCpointed to Islam as a possible fulfillment of the little horn of Daniel 7. Recently this view has been revived; some are suggesting that we should take Islam seriously today as a fulfillment of Daniel 7.[1]

From a historical point of view it is not surprising that the Reformers looked at Islam as a fulfillment of Daniel’s prophecy. When Islam arose in the 7th century and for some time after, Catholics also identified Islam as the Antichrist. During the 16th century Islam was a very great threat to Christianity because of its military successes in Eastern Europe.

Against this background Luther interpreted the little horn of Daniel 7 as both Islam and the papacy. So did some other Reformers. We should, however, be careful what we accept of the Reformers’ interpretations of Daniel, because much of this prophetic book was to be sealed until the time of the end (Daniel 12:4). Obviously the time of the Reformation was not the time of the end.

The events of the 18th and 19th centuries, such as the French Revolution, the “deadly wound” to the papal government and the decline of the Islamic Ottoman empire, led prophetic expositors to conclude that Islam did not fit the profile of the little horn. However, in the light of recent political developments focusing on Islam it will be helpful to see whether there is anything to the notion that Islam can be identified as the little horn of Daniel 7.

The Four Kingdoms. The prophecy of Daniel 7 presents the familiar picture of four beasts coming out of a great sea. First appeared a lion, which interpreters have identified as representing Babylon. The second beast was a bear, representing Medo-Persia. The third was a leopard, representing Greece, and the fourth, a “dreadful and terrible” beast, representing Rome. Ten horns emerged out of the fourth kingdom, followed by a little horn which would attempt to annihilate God’s people.

Although experience has shown that most prophecies can be understood only after they have been fulfilled, the early Christians interpreted the four beasts as Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome, and they expected ten kingdoms to arise out of Rome. History reveals that they were right! Between a.d. 351 and 476 barbarian invasions broke the Roman Empire into ten kingdoms. The early Christians also believed that after the division of the empire the little horn power would arise and oppose Christ and His church, bringing great affliction upon God’s people.

Daniel 7:8, 11, 20, 21, 24 and 25 present the little horn’s characteristics. In trying to identify the little horn power we need to be sure each aspect of the biblical description fits the power we apply it to. We will now compare each of these distinctive features with Islam to see whether Islam fits historically.

[…see exhaustive case with references to scripture……]

    Conclusion

After reviewing these 12 identifying characteristics of the little horn given in Daniel, we conclude that only four can apply to Islam. The majority of characteristics, 8 out of 12, do not fit Islam. We can conclude, therefore, that Islam is not a viable fulfillment of the little horn

    >”I feel many parts of Revelation, but not all, refer to past event”
    >”it can be quite tricky identifying which is what”
    >”I’m wondering if the 4 horsemen section refers to the past, the 7 trumpets to the present, and the 7 plagues to the future”

Revelation was a vision of the future right through to the end times and beyond given to John in exile on the Island of Patmos i.e. future from his perspective was any event from his time onward. There was also a review of the recent and ancient past e.g. birth of Jesus, ancient Babylon etc.

Of most interest to us is where are we now in this? We can determine this by what has obviously NOT happened yet e.g. the the 4 horseman (first 4 seals) occur in the 7 seals prophecy of Rev 6 and 8, the trumpets are the 7th seal in Rev 8. The 6th seal has obviously not yet occurred therefore the trumpets (7th) must be in the future.

I’m of the view that the first horseman was Emperor Constantine but not arguing. The point is, where are we in the 7 seals given what has obviously NOT happened yet. The 6th seal obviously hasn’t, the 5th could still be happening, Seals 1 – 3 have already occurred in my view,

That leaves somewhere in the 4th and 5th seals. Next being the 6th:

    Revelation 6
7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal,……..

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%206&version=KJV

    # # #

Note that “should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled” does not necessarily mean actually killed, just “should” be killed at least (check the Greek too). In other words, the Inquisition is not necessarily repeated but there will be Christians who “should” be killed in the view of an end times theocracy. Whether they are or not remains to be seen. Use of the same word in “should be fulfilled” is ominous.

I think this denotes the attitudes of the time more than anything I.e. the “zeitgeist”, more than actual events perhaps.

This is not inconceivable, there are warmists right now who think climate change sceptics “should” be killed.

What I mean here is that there is plenty of speculation on the internet with all sorts of scenarios but unless specific events are not only tied to specific verses but also to ALL other verses that pertain to it including the historical precursors then the speculation usually turns out to be groundless i.e. this is no different to the scientific process: premise, observe, verify.

Yes a speculative premise is useful but when it comes to the bible (OT and NT) there’s a lot of cross-referencing to be done and some very fine filtering needed e.g. ‘Islam and the Little Horn or Daniel 7′ above.

We can verify right up to the present day which gives some basis for looking at the future. I’m most interested in Revelation 18 right now because it relates to the collapse of financial systems, fiat currency and debt in particular i.e. international trade finance and shipping:

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=revelation+18&version=KJV

The unwinding of global debt-fueled economies can be observed and verified right now and we have already had an example of major international shipping problems. This rates much higher than Islam in respect to world affairs if the Rev 1 & 2 announcement is anything to go by. Where is there a similar announcement in respect to Islam? Or any announcement in respect to Islam?

As much as these Islamic atrocities grab the headlines they are really not that significant relatively (in biblical terms). Think of the tens of millions who perished under Communism, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot. Hard to find that in prophecy too.

Turns up again in Rev 13 in respect to the 2nd beast:

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

Interpretation that I subscribe to (i.e. I’ve arrived at this along with a good many others):

    # Ist beast: Vatican theocracy in Rome. 13:1 “out of the sea” referring to populated Europe. 13:14 “wound by a sword, and did live” General Berthier unseated Pius VI in 1798, power restored by Mussolini in 1929.
    # 2nd beast: USA. 13:11 “out of the earth” referring to unpopulated North America, “two horns” separation of powers, “like a lamb” looks Christian,”spake as a dragon” Globocop.
    # Image to the beast: theocracy in USA duplicate to Vatican in Europe.

A challenge Magoo: a better interpretation than this.

    >”I mean Islam fulfills this role, the false prophet:”

OK, how does it fulfil every element within each verse, element by element, verse by verse as I have done (repeated below)?

    # Ist beast: Vatican theocracy in Rome. 13:1 “out of the sea” referring to populated Europe. 13:14 “wound by a sword, and did live” General Berthier unseated Pius VI in 1798, power restored by Mussolini in 1929.
    # 2nd beast: USA. 13:11 “out of the earth” referring to unpopulated North America, “two horns” separation of powers, “like a lamb” looks Christian,”spake as a dragon” Globocop.
    # Image to the beast: theocracy in USA duplicate to Vatican in Europe.

Firstly, the term “false prophet” is not actually mentioned in that passage, but yes, the connection can be made to the “false prophet” specifically referred to in Rev 19:20:

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

In my version, the false prophet will have to be either a future USA theocracy (“image” of the RC church) or some charismatic identity coming out of it.

The “image” has not been created yet in my version. What is your version of what the “image” will be or already is? What is it an image of i.e. what does it duplicate? What is the first beast in your version? How does it have “the wound by a sword, and did live”? What are the verses and how do you match the contentions to them?

Secondly as I pointed out upthread, notice that the 1st beast is divided into 2 specific parts: the entity (govt. empire) and the “mouth” (a person). There is no such division of the second beast so Ok, between us we have 2 second beast candidates an eventual USA theocracy (yet to be created, no “mouth”) and Islam (doing stuff we’ve not yet seen).

So then, how does Islam “exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him” and what is the first beast in your version?

My version above says USA and an eventual USA theocracy (2nd beast, and “image” of the 1st beast RC church) carries out (“exerciseth”) whatever agenda (“power”) the Roman Catholic Church (“first beast”) sets for the world order in the future.

How do you put Islam in this context?

Thirdly, we covered the respective “marks” of the RC Church beast or Islamic beast candidates already in our different versions, no point going there again, but how do you attribute “name of the beast, or the number of his name” to Islam”?

Plenty to attribute that to the papacy, a couple of examples:

VICARIUS FILII DEI – 666, The Number of the Beast
    http://biblelight.net/666.htm

The Biblical Interpretation of the Number 666
    http://www.666beast.net/

    >”Turkey will become the caliphate (the resurrected Ottoman Empire). Iran (Persia) will reign fire down to Earth in the form of nuclear weapons and their first target will be Saudi Arabia (Babylon)”

I want to see the element-by-element case supporting each of these contentions (your case) laid out in black and white. Specifically:

    1) What verse(s) supports the contention that Turkey becomes the new and future Caliphate?
    2) What verse(s) supports the contention regarding Iran attacking Saudi Arabia with nuclear weapons?
    3) What verse(s) supports the contention that Saudi Arabia is the modern “Babylon”?

Evidence please, and I don’t mean “watch the video”.

Item 3) is immediately problematic given Revelation 17 and 18. How do you fit Saudi Arabia in to BOTH of these chapters that deal with firstly in 17, the “woman” the description of which fits the RC Church, bearing the name of “Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.”

This title refers to ancient pagan Babylon (from Babel) founded by Nimrod and what has emanated from there. How can it possibly refer to Saudi Arabia? And yes, the roots, icons, symbols etc of the RC Church can easily be traced back to pagan Babylon.

    Revelation 17
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=revelation+17&version=KJV

Chapter 18 then deals with the fall of Babylon. It becomes obvious that the fall is in the future and refers to everything in modern times that has roots in ancient Babylon i.e. it is much bigger than JUST the RC Church, and it certainly cannot be Saudi Arabia. It talks of international ship trade and the failure of it, ALL of it. It is impossible for Saudi Arabia to account for ALL of the world’s shipped merchandise which requires around US$11 trillion trade credit per year to operate. No credit, no trade by ships. This has nothing to do with Saudi Arabia except for whatever merchandise is shipped to that country.

    Revelation 18
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%2018&version=KJV

That the world’s debased currencies originate in ancient Babylon is another discussion except to say that Leviticus 19:36 stipulates “Just balances, just weights”. Fiat currencies are neither, they are “floating” by definition. The value of debased currencies gets less and less in a relatively short space of time, a currency fixed by some commodity does not change over millennia i.e. “just”. An ounce of gold or a bucket of staple food remains unchanged therefore the value of the currency remains the same. The fall of the financial aspect of modern Babylon refers to the unwinding of greed-driven debt (think “mammon”) i.e. the inability to extend credit to facilitate international ship trade. When this happens (2008/9 provided an example) ship trade stops as in Rev 18.

Global debt is unwinding right now. You can test this by observation, companies, cities, States, over their heads in debt will go broke and are going broke. Recent examples: Glencore, Detroit, Greece, Puerto Rico. China and the USA are particular cases. Banks are in trouble, they are the entities that extend credit. In other words, the world is going to be very different to what we know now and in a crisis people look to leaders, including religious leaders. Be sure that the RC church and papacy will move to fill that void.

In terms of spiritual leadership, Rev 13:12 says “them which dwell [in earth]” will “worship the first beast”. I say this is referring to the RC church in the future when the world’s financial systems have collapsed i.e. major crisis, you’ve made no attribution to the first beast. Your attribution of Islam is to the second beast. How then do you place Islam in respect to Rev 13:12?

On the face of it. But when you try to match them to history and fit future scenarios to them you discover that you have to be strictly coherent, cohesive and consistent to make anything fit.

And what does fit already makes perfect sense. And what has yet to fit is testable simply by observation over time i.e. verifiable. This is really much the same as fitting climate theories to observations, or not.

Far worse has been done (e.g. 66,000,000 dead in Stalinist Russia). And it can be argued that Nazi Germany was little different to Assyria or Babylon in respect to the Jews (except for the gas chambers) i.e. if the latter were ordered by God, why not the former?

    Also, there’s a biblical limit:

    Revelation 10:5-7 (KJV)

5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,

6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

In other words, man is given free will to do as he chooses, including war, killing etc. But only for so long.

Saudi Arabia is considered the site of the Babylon that Isiah was referring to as he named 3 sites in relation to Babylon, all 3 of which are in Saudi Arabia:

If you have any further questions pleasewatch the video so I don’t have to explain it all to you every time you have a question – many thanks. I’m very interested in your reasons for the following conclusions – in what what way do these things refer to these places?:

“out of the sea” referring to populated Europe

“out of the earth” referring to unpopulated North America

    Regarding the following:

‘And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.’

This one is straight forward & is one of the easier verses in Revelation to interpret – the beast looks like a lamb because it’s pretending to be Christian, and it makes a sound like the dragon (which is the devil in the previous verses) because it is preaching the dragon’s doctrine, i.e. it’s a false prophet, a wolf in sheep clothing. ‘Globocop’ – lol, where did you get that one?

Jews ended up in Germany because they were evicted from Israel, the “promised” land i.e. diaspora.

Diaspora, ( Greek: Dispersion) Hebrew Galut (Exile), the
dispersion of Jews among the Gentiles after the Babylonian Exile; or the aggregate of Jews or Jewish communities scattered “in exile” outside Palestine or present-day Israel. Although the term refers to the physical dispersal of Jews throughout the world, it also carries religious, philosophical, political, and eschatological connotations, inasmuch as the Jews perceive a special relationship between the land of Israel and themselves. Interpretations of this relationship range from the messianic hope of traditional Judaism for the eventual “ingathering of the exiles” to the view of Reform Judaism that the dispersal of the Jews was providentially arranged by God to foster pure monotheism throughout the world.

The first significant Jewish Diaspora was the result of the Babylonian Exile of 586 bc. After the Babylonians conquered the Kingdom of Judah, part of the Jewish population was deported into slavery. Although Cyrus the Great, the Persian conqueror of Babylonia, permitted the Jews to return to their homeland in 538 bc, part of the Jewish community voluntarily remained behind.

The largest, most significant, and culturally most creative Jewish Diaspora in early Jewish history flourished in Alexandria, where, in the 1st century bc, 40 percent of the population was Jewish. Around the 1st century ad, an estimated 5,000,000 Jews lived outside Palestine, about four-fifths of them within the Roman Empire, but they looked to Palestine as the centre of their religious and cultural life. Diaspora Jews thus far outnumbered the Jews in Palestine even before the destruction of Jerusalem in ad 70. Thereafter, the chief centres of Judaism shifted from country to country (e.g., Babylonia, Persia, Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Russia, and the United States), and Jewish communities gradually adopted distinctive languages, rituals, and cultures, some submerging themselves in non-Jewish environments more completely than others. While some lived in peace, others became victims of violent anti-Semitism.

It was only the creation of modern Israel on May 14, 1948 that made much of biblical prophecy regarding Jews make sense. My foster parents grew up when no Israel existed and they couldn’t make sense of what they were reading But after WWII, there it was and a whole lot fell into place.

    >”Saudi Arabia is considered the site of the Babylon that Isiah was referring to as he named 3 sites in relation to Babylon, all 3 of which are in Saudi Arabia:”

    Wrong. From your link:

“Ancient Babylon was simply a type of the Last-Days Babylon. The names in this prophecy are all areas in Arabia: [Isaiah 21]
“The burden against Dumah” (v. 11)
“The burden against Arabia” (v. 13)
“All the glory of Kedar will fail” (v. 16)”

The author missed the prophecies regarding Babylon specifically:

Jeremiah 51:37 And Babylon shall become heaps…..

Please provide specific verses in support of each contention (speculation) in the video. It’s your case, support it with the relevant evidence. >”in what what way do these things refer to these places?: “out of the sea” referring to populated Europe

This is an old interpretation that I don’t think is contentious, for example John Wesley:

Out of the sea — That is, Europe. So the three woes (the first being in Persia, the second about the Euphrates) move in a line from east to west. This beast is the Romish Papacy, as it came to a point six hundred years since, stands now, and will for some time longer. To this, and no other power on earth, agrees the whole text, and every part of it in every point; as we may see, with the utmost evidence, from the propositions following: –

    Continues PROPs 1 – 4 and much more>>>>>
    http://www.christnotes.org/commentary.php?com=wes&b=66&c=13

    >“out of the earth” referring to unpopulated North America

This is a new (and probably contentious) interpretation (e.g. from Dr Gerhard Padderatz, Mega Trends) that looks at the entire 13:11 verse in context and in contrast to the first beast from the “sea”:

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

The logic being: if not coming out of a populated “sea” of peoples, it must be coming out of a (relatively) unpopulated landmass. The only new nation that fits this description, and the rest of the verse, is USA.

“two horns” represent US constitutional Separation of Powers, Executive and Legislature. There is a third Judicial power but the primary govt is Executive and Legislature, An alternative view is separation of church and state. The founding fathers left Europe and Britain to escape Catholic rule, they didn’t want to repeat that in the New World.

    >”This one is straight forward & is one of the easier verses in Revelation to interpret – the beast looks like a lamb because it’s pretending to be Christian,”

Yes, agreed. Fits USA to a T. Federal USA is founded by occultism and freemasonry, the symbolism is everywhere in Washington DC, even the street layout. The Pentagon in Virginia was once part of DC and so on. But it pretends to be Christian.

    >”and it makes a sound like the dragon (which is the devil in the previous verses) because it is preaching the dragon’s doctrine,”

Except there is nothing said about what the sound of the “mouth” of the first beast who actually had the “power”, “seat”, and “great authority” given by the dragon and speaks from that power:

2 …………… the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast
5 And there was given unto him a mouth………

“LIKE” a dragon is in respect to the second beast i.e. it does NOT actually have “power”, “seat”, and “great authority” given by the dragon as the first beast does but it speaks LIKE it does.

    >”i.e. it’s a false prophet, a wolf in sheep clothing.”

Yes, agreed (in respect to the second beast). Although a theocracy is not yet in place in USA whereby the term “false prophet” can be ascribed. Federal USA at present does not fit. But a future theocracy in USA would. This is certainly not inconceivable, many factions in the USA want a theocracy from the Christian Right through to Obama’s communitarians. Obama is already circumventing Congress. The Roman Catholic Church definitely wants it.

Besides, there’s a good case for this already i.e. that it is a historical event. Here’s one commentary but there are others. I link this one because it is exhaustive, is referenced to the relevant scripture, and includes maps of what is being referenced:

Looking at your last 2 replies Richard, I think you’re speculating far, far more than the I am. Drawing the conclusion it’s the USA because it says ‘out of the Earth’ is a speculation on a speculation – you have no evidence whatsoever that out of the Earth means that and conclusion you draw from that speculation compounds the error.

I use references of statements from the bible to back my claims, you speculate on ambiguous text and draw shaky conclusions. What you’re saying is that the USA, a Christian country founded by Christians, and the Vatican, a Christian church founded by St Peter, are evil, yet Islam openly states that it wants to establish a global theocracy that kills and enslaves Christians and Jews who don’t convert and you discount it.

I think you’re mad to come to the conclusions you have, and your inability to even consider that you may be mistaken reinforces it – when was the last time you ever admitted you were wrong about anything? There are occult aspects to many things in many countries, all the cathedrals in Europe were built by the freemasons, yet you choose the USA specifically over the whole of Europe which also meets the same criteria you claim as a sign, whilst offhandedly rejecting Islam which openly admits it’s aims of a global theocracy & persecution & murder of those who don’t submit. Some renaissance paintings use pentagrams as their underlying form – are they the work of satan as well? They meet your criteria of being an occult symbol. If so, why not the crescent moon and sun symbol of ancient babylonian gods that Islam uses.

You’re fencing with me and it’s a complete waste of my time. Here’s a hint, why don’t you compare the openly stated motives of Islam of a global theocracy that persecutes Christians and Jews, one it actually practices both currently and in the past and intends to intensify in the future, with the USA and the Vatican, both of which having absolutely no inkling of behaving in such a manner. The points raised in the video meet the criteria (if you’re not too pigheaded to watch it lest you’re proven incorrect), and are researched from the verses in the bible and the history associated with them, not some backwater blogs about conspiracy theories.

I have nothing else to say on the matter due to your complete inability to even consider something that is different from your own highly speculative point of view. Perhaps you should consider how much more speculative your own viewpoints are before pointing the finger at others. The Vatican and the USA? Really? Why not throw Christ in for good luck, maybe the Vatican are lying about him being the Christ as well, or maybe if you twist things a bit more you could get Christ to fulfill the role of the antichrist and paint Satan as the savior.

    >”Iran (Persia) will reign fire down to Earth in the form of nuclear weapons and their first target will be Saudi Arabia (Babylon)””

This is highly problematic. A nuclear missile doesn’t “reign fire down to Earth”. There’s a thermonuclear blast when the bomb is detonated at or just above the surface but until then there’s no fire. Even then it is intense radiation rather than fire, and that goes in all directions including up.

In respect to Israel or even the wider ME, Iran is east, not north. And is the animosity between Iran and Saudi Arabia so great that it “will” resort to a nuclear attack? Wouldn’t Israel be their first target?

You’ve already said in your version that the second beast (and false prophet) is a Turkish Islamic Caliphate so you cannot then place Iran as fulfilling Rev 13:13:

13 And he [second beast and false prophet] doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

Elsewhere the false prophet’s actions are described as miraculous (doing “the impossible” in human terms):

Rev 19:20 (KJV) “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him

USA has already dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. No other country has done anything like this yet but there have been nuclear bomb tests by other countries so it is obviously not a miracle or impossibility, USA has not done “the impossible” in our terms. In terms of your version Magoo, rather than Iran, USA has already fulfilled “maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men” with nuclear bombs but there was nothing miraculous about it i.e. they didn’t overcome the laws of physics as understood by mankind.

I don’t see how missile attacks, nuclear or not, can be construed as fulfilling Rev 13:13. I don’t think USA fulfilled that with Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We’re either waiting for something supernatural or something “impossible” in respect to natural laws. An example of supernatural and “impossible” was Elijah vs prophets of Baal:

1 Kings 18:38 Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice……….

“The impossible” overrides the natural laws of physics as we know them. In this respect the USA Supreme Court has already written “the impossible” into the law of the United Sates with the CO2 “endangerment finding” i.e. heat moving from cold air to hot surface in violation of the Clausius statement of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. I’m not saying this is actual fulfillment of Rev 13:13 but is is certainly a possibility. Something supernatural seems more plausible though.

    >”you have no evidence whatsoever that out of the Earth means that and conclusion you draw from that speculation compounds the error.”

I’ve presented the evidence, it is entirely logical, any “error” is by your definition only.

    >”I use references of statements from the bible to back my claims”

Not even close. I’ve asked for your element-by-element analysis linking events to scripture but but nothing forthcoming except what I’ve shown to be wrong. I’ve given two (there are many more) commentaries that do exactly that in respect to Daniel 11. Your scenario is the outlier, I’ve seen it described as “farfetched” (see THE KINGS OF THE NORTH AND THE SOUTH upthread).

    How is that “Christian”?

    >”the Vatican, a Christian church founded by St Peter”

No, Peter was never Bishop of Rome and he certainly didn’t found the “Vatican” which is a State, neither the Roman Catholic Church. It is doubtful that he was ever even in Rome:

Was Saint Peter the first pope?

But while Peter was central in the early spread of the gospel (part of the meaning behind Matthew 16:18-19), the teaching of Scripture, taken in context, nowhere declares that he was in authority over the other apostles, or over the church (having primacy). See Acts 15:1-23; Galatians 2:1-14; and 1 Peter 5:1-5. Nor is it ever taught in Scripture that the bishop of Rome, or any other bishop, was to have primacy over the church. Scripture does not even explicitly record Peter even being in Rome. Rather there is only one reference in Scripture of Peter writing from “Babylon,” a name sometimes applied to Rome (1 Peter 5:13). Primarily upon this and the historical rise of the influence of the Bishop of Rome come the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching of the primacy of the bishop of Rome. However, Scripture shows that Peter’s authority was shared by the other apostles (Ephesians 2:19-20), and the “loosing and binding” authority attributed to him was likewise shared by the local churches, not just their church leaders (see Matthew 18:15-19; 1 Corinthians 5:1-13; 2 Corinthians 13:10; Titus 2:15; 3:10-11).

    http://www.gotquestions.org/Peter-first-pope.html

    >”Islam openly states that it wants to establish a global theocracy that kills and enslaves Christians and Jews who don’t convert and you discount it.”

I discount it because the bible discounts it. You haven’t provided any biblical scripture to support your statement. What is there? I cannot find anything biblical that explicitly refers to Islam, or what can be recognized as Islam, fulfilling all the criteria of say, the second beast of Rev 13. Yes the Quran states those aims but there’s nothing biblical that reflects it.

    >”They meet your criteria of being an occult symbol. If so, why not the crescent moon and sun symbol of ancient babylonian gods that Islam use”

That’s not “my criteria” Magoo, it was Muhammad and there is only one Babylonian god in Islam. Muhammad arbitrarily selected the pagan Meccan moon god Sin (Hubal) out of 360 Meccan gods as being “Allah” (see way upthread). The Arabs used the term Allah long before Muhammad was born and the the moon god Sin came out of Babylon which was a huge city in comparison to Mecca.

My reference to occultism is as per my previous comment simply to show that Federal USA (Washington DC is a Federal State) pretends to be Christian but has Satanic roots (and see Satanic Occult Symbols In Washington D.C. above).

    >”maybe the Vatican are lying about him [Jesus] being the Christ as well,”

    VICARIUS FILII DEI
666, The Number of the Beast
    http://biblelight.net/666.htm

A small sample from the last link:

From Crossing The Threshold of Hope, by Pope John Paul II:

First Chapter: “The Pope”: A Scandal and a Mystery (bold emphasis is mine [author]):

[pg. 3] The leader of the Catholic Church is defined by the faith as the Vicar of Jesus Christ (and is accepted as such by believers). The Pope is considered the man on earth who represents the Son of God, who “takes the place” of the Second Person of the omnipotent God of the Trinity.

[pg. 6] Have no fear when people call me the “Vicar of Christ,” when they say to me “Holy Father,” or “Your Holiness,” or use titles similar to these, which seem even inimical [hostile] to the Gospel. Christ himself declared: “Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in heaven. Do not be called ‘Master’; you have but one master, the Messiah” (Mt 23:9-10). These expressions, nevertheless, have evolved out of a long tradition, becoming part of common usage. One must not be afraid of these words either.

[pg. 13] The Pope is not the only one who holds this title. With regard to the Church entrusted to him, each bishop is Vicarius Christi.

Note that on page three of the Pope’s book, “represents the Son of God” is synonymous with “Vicar of Jesus Christ”. A vicar clearly represents, substitutes for, or “takes the place” of another, as stated. Consequently “represents the Son of God” can be translated in Latin as Vicarius Filii Dei, which in Roman Numerals will add up to 666. The title Vicarius Christi, translated into English, means a substitute for Christ, i.e., Antichrist, as demonstrated above, which is applied by the Pope to every bishop of the Catholic Church!

‘Is this the end of the E.U.?’

    Jake Novak | 17 Nov 2015 | CNBC

It’s always the things you don’t expect that get you. After banking scandals, currency issues, and a Greek/Portugese/Spanish debt crisis just about every six months, the economic and political partnership that is the European Union seems much more likely to fall apart for an entirely different reason after all. That reason is ISIS. The direct cause is actually an extremely divisive and growing dispute about open borders, immigration, and refugee resettlement. But that conflict just became a lot more serious thanks to the horrific ISIS terrorist attacks in Paris Friday night. Now, this discussion has grown and migrated, (pun intended), from a political debate among E.U. elites to the #1 pressing issue on the streets of Europe.

When relatively smaller economic nations like Hungary began closing their borders to migrants and Syrian refugees last month, it could be written off as perhaps an isolated incident. But all bets are off now that France is closing its borders in response to the attacks, even if it is just temporarily. That’s because in so doing, President Francois Hollande has unambiguously connected the border issue with the effort to fight the spread of terror. It’s so obvious that even the most politically uninterested person can see what it means. And just in case the message still isn’t entirely clear to everyone, one of the major stories in Europe today is about how the alleged mastermind of the Paris attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, boasted in videos about how easily he crisscrossed the borders of the E.U. for years.

This is a political nightmare for the statist bureaucrats who have been working for decades to reduce true representative democracy all for the goal of a unified and monolithic economic entity without worrying about being hindered by annoying little things like the will of the people. Before these attacks and the border response, the E.U. simply glossed over dissent and most attempts to challenge its un-elected sovereignty. Its best weapon in that fight has always been using the accusations of racism and xenophobia against those who refused to integrate and obey the E.U. fully and quickly enough in all matters of economics, immigration, and tax law. With a mostly compliant state-sponsored news media on its side, the “racist” and “xenophobic” label has been used the most against Britain’s anti-E.U. UKIP party more and more in recent years.

UKIP does keep gaining in popularity in the U.K., but it still has to fight very hard to beat back those scare tactic accusations. But what do the people who spread accusations of racism and xenophobia do now that more Europeans than ever believe their governments are sacrificing their safety in favor of remaining compliant with E.U. immigration dogma? The simple answer is that they’re in trouble, and no amount of sanctimonious shaming or economic threats will do much good when the majority of the public doesn’t feel safe anymo

‘Judge denies Washington kids’ petition on climate change’

By Phuong Le, The Associated Press Posted Nov. 20, 2015

SEATTLE (AP) ” A judge has denied an appeal by eight young activists who petitioned Washington state to adopt stricter science-based regulations to protect them against climate change. King County Superior Court Judge Hollis Hill affirmed some of the children’s arguments, saying the state has a duty to protect natural resources for future generations. But she said the Washington Department of Ecology is already working on meeting that obligation by writing new rules for greenhouse gas emissions ordered by the governor.

Climate activists, ages 10 to 15, in Seattle brought the lawsuit asking the court to force state officials to adopt new rules to limit carbon emissions based on the best available science. The case is part of a nationwide effort led by the Oregon-based nonprofit Our Children’s Trust to force states and the federal government to take action on climate change.

The judge noted in her ruling Thursday that the Ecology Department is taking science into account, along with economic, social and political considerations. She also said the court can’t dictate how officials develop the rules. Lawyers representing the children claimed a win Friday, saying youth who sued got what they wanted even though the judge did not order the agency to write new rules.

“She agreed with our legal arguments that they (the children) have a constitutional right to a healthful environment,” said Andrea Rodgers, an attorney with the Western Environmental Law Center.
Rodgers noted the judge said Washington has a mandatory duty under the state’s Clean Air act and the state constitution to preserve and protect the air quality for current and future generations.
“We’re so hopeful that Ecology will heed the guidance that the judge gave them,” Rodgers added.

Michael Gerrard, a professor and director of the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University, called the judge’s ruling “helpful but not revolutionary.” “This court decision has some nice language, but the court did not require anybody to do anything,” he said. “This helps build up a legal foundation, but we don’t yet have a structure with a roof on it. The state does need to take it seriously, but I don’t know if it’s anything different from what (the Ecology Department) is doing.”

Ecology Director Maia Bellon said in a statement Friday that “we are satisfied that the court’s order recognizes that the rulemaking directed by Governor (Jay) Inslee will meet Ecology’s obligation to protect our climate from harmful greenhouse gas emissions.” She said she was impressed with the children’s engagement and welcomed their input as the state writes those new rules.

Never mind that any “stricter science-based regulations to protect them against climate change” would be based on a violation of natural law.

Extremists shape American politics to unabashedly pursue legislative policies that favor the rich and punish the poor.

Americans seem confident in the mythical notion that the United States is a free nation dedicated to reproducing the principles of equality, justice and democracy. What has been ignored in this delusional view is the growing rise of an expanded national security state since 2001 and an attack on individual rights that suggests that the United States has more in common with authoritarian regimes like China and Iran “than anyone may like to admit.” I want to address this seemingly untenable notion that the United States has become a breeding ground for authoritarianism by focusing on four fundamentalisms: market fundamentalism, religious fundamentalism, educational fundamentalism and military fundamentalism. This is far from a exhaustive list, but it does raise serious questions about how the claim to democracy in the United States has been severely damaged, if not made impossible.

The broader contours of the attack on democratic freedoms have become obvious in recent years. While the Bush administration engaged in torture, shamelessly violated civil liberties and put a host of Christian extremists in high-ranking governmental positions, the Obama administration has not only continued many of these policies, but has further institutionalized them. As Glenn Greenwald has reminded us, Obama has continued the Bush-Cheney terrorism and civil liberties policies, further undermining constitutional rights by promoting indefinite detention, weakening the rights of habeas corpus for prisoners in Afghanistan, extending government power through the state secrets privilege, asserting the right to target American citizens for assassination and waging war on whistle blowers. More specifically, there are the ongoing revelations about the Obama administration’s decision under the National Defense Authorization Act to allow American citizens to be held indefinitely without charge or trial; the government’s increased role in using special operations forces and drones in targeted assassinations; the emergence and use of sophisticated surveillance technologies to spy on protesters; the invocation of the state secrecy practices; the suspension of civil liberties that allow various government agencies to spy on Americans without first obtaining warrants; and the stories about widespread abuse and torture by the US military in Afghanistan, not to mention the popular support for torture among the American public. It gets worse. As the war on terror degenerated in a war on democracy, a host of legal illegalities have been established that put the rule of law if not the very principle of Western jurisprudence into a chokehold. How such assaults on the rule of law, justice and democracy could take place without massive resistance represents one of the most reprehensible moments in American history. Most Americans caught in the grip of simply trying to survive or paralyzed in a relentless culture of fear ignored the assaults on democracy unleashed by a burgeoning national security state. The assaults loom large and are evident in the passage of the Use of Military Force Act, the passage of the Patriot Act, the 2002 Homeland Security Act, the Military Commission Act of 2006 and the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act.

Not my POV exactly but in the same vein. European countries might be on the same path if the EU/eurozone collapses.

The enemedia refer to Le Pen as “Far Right”, yet she is getting votes from Paris Jews, gays, and now muslims,

The real story, I feel, is the disconnect with the “political class”
