Talk about Brexit

Democracy rules.

Let’s follow the story, until at least 29 March.

Michel Barnier understandably must be a little bit fretful this morning, because he seemed to have won. He got a fantastic deal from the EU’s point of view, people within the European Union have been gloating about what a wonderful deal it was from their point of view, and then Parliament has said no. So he’s probably feeling a little bit sore-headed this morning.  – Jacob Rees-Mogg, 16 Jan 2019

I read a good book a while back by Booker and North called
Scared to Death: From BSE to Global Warming: Why Scares are Costing Us the Earth

Their thesis was that most of these scares followed a similar pattern around an original often plausible scare story, excessive media hype followed by excessive government intervention

The same people who wrote this book are now being called “scare mongers” for suggesting that a No Deal Brexit may not be that flash an idea

There are a number of very complex and difficult reasons for this. One factor is that the UK government, having outsourced their management to Brussels over decades, is about as effective as the Dibley Parish Council

The speaker of the UK House of Commons, John Berkow, has a sticker in his car that says “Bollocks to Brexit”

That’s all we need to say about the dire state of UK democracy

    Andy,

The speaker of the UK House of Commons, John Berkow, has a sticker in his car that says “Bollocks to Brexit”

He explained to the Parliament that it’s his wife’s car. Though I think he voted Remain?

    But not relevant
The government took the question to the people via a referendum, which they promised they would deliver on (though the terms of leaving were and are still not defined)

Furthermore, the Speaker of the House is supposed to have some level of impartiality; perhaps even decorum.

Whilst Mrs May may have made some bad calls during this process, she has carried herself with far more grace and aplomb that any of the public school educated oiks that behave like brats during the commons sessions

Oh, look, absolutely, I totally agree. There’s no excuse for strangling democracy or bad behaviour.

What really happened in Brussels …

When the Maastricht Treaty was about to be signed there was a call for a referendum.
“This is taking us into a federal state” said the people, “we should have a referendum.”
“No” said the political elite “we’re politicians, we know better, trust us”
Then came the Lisbon treaty. “Whoah!” said the people, “This is taking us even deeper into a federal state, we should have a referendum.” “No” said the political elite “we’re politicians, we know better, trust us”.
And so the UK became a state within the EU. As the years passed the call for a referendum never went away.

A few years latter David Cammeron’s conservative government came to power, in coalition with the Lib-Dems, much to peoples surprise. At the next general election David cammeron stood on a manifesto in which he promised a referendum, expecting to once again be in coalition with the lib-Dems, who would block it. Unfortunately for the Lib-Dems they got completely wiped out and DC had a majority government.
And so finally we got our referendum, more by default than anything else.

The question on the ballot paper was quite simple, we are a member of the EU, do you want to A: Leave or B: Remain. The result as you know was to leave.

Now the political elite are so far removed from the people that they just didnt expect the leave result at all. They didnt even have a contingency plan just in case, none. The establishment shat itself and has been doing everything within its power to stop us leaving. Constant scaremongering from the BBC, every day there is a new story on how leaving will wreck the UK. It has become a total farce and the politicians still dont get it, we didnt vote leave because we read something on the side of a bus, we voted leave because we are so fed up with the political elite.

  8. Been following Brexit since first mooted. Every time I mention geopolitics in a comment it gets modded. Now, there is a connection with climate gate here which may not be apparent to many sceptics. I just happened, by chance, if there is such a thing, to listen to Lee Smolin, whose books I have read in the past, about his book about time etc. There is this panel. Prof Grayling, who doesn’t like democracy except for his interpretation, and Dr. Tetts, an editor for the Fin Times of London, now Japanese owned. The third panelist I did not get the name of… However, Naturalism 2 will already be familiar to esotericists. What people believe and, more appositely in terms of geopolitics and scams generally, what people can be made or enticed or even forced to believe, and shoehorned into believing, has some influence upon the not immutable natural laws. Of course, this in itself is not an immutable law. If the majority of people honestly believe they are sick of being scammed in any way, especially in matters of high finance, international relations, economics, politics, science and, dare I mention it, religion, which started it all, of course, the natural law which says that people can be made to believe anything at all, if they stop believing in God, can be made to go away.

The AGW scam is one of these clever devices of which are a million new such schemes tried to get up and running every day. If it takes, and enough people start to believe it, well, give it time and the evidence appears naturally, if you’re lucky with the weather. The people who dream up these schemes are clever, related to the old tried and tested esoteric sciences. They can see which way the wind blows and trim their sails accordingly. The Greens, erstwhile environmentalists, have been conned, insofar as they were genuine, and not scrambling to get on taxpayer-funded gravy trains. Feminism, charitable enterprise, name any worthwhile cause and it was and is taken over by scammers. The brainwashing, the propaganda, the overwhelming smothering narrative applied, mostly with taxpayers’ funds, to set people’s minds to the narrative which must crowd out all other thinking about reality, in the case of Brexit, and the EUSSR cabal generally, is very obvious. It looks set to fail in this case, in the long run, as too many people have woken up to these methods. With climate gate, it’s not certain whether the scammers will eventually not get their way, but meanwhile they’re ahead. What a gravy train the AGW scam has been sofar.

Things are ‘hotting up’ re Brexit – Trusk’s remarks indicate that the EU is running scared. The effect of his words are likely to galvanise the British people’s determination to leave,

I said it before the referendum and I’ll say it again….

THEY WILL NOT LET US LEAVE.

The UK Parliament have voted to “delay” Brexit.

This isn’t going to end well

It never was going to end well Andy. From day one the whole brexit process has been frustrated by the remainer establishment. Every referendum that has ever gone against the EU has been reversed.

Bollocks to Berkow, hes completely unfit to be speaker.

p.s. Sad news from NZ today. RIP all.
